Get to know your Parliamentary Candidate

Matt Bell wants to champion the needs of the community in which he grew up, lives, teaches, and raises his family. Matt already fights for the needs of Dorset people every day as a councillor and activist on issues such as flooding, car parking, pharmacies and homes. He wants to continue to provide South Dorset with a listening ear and a strong voice, but this time in Westminster!

Matt is a teacher in South Dorset and is also a keen cyclist and former Weymouth hockey player. He has been an active part of the community since his childhood. He has on-the-ground understanding of the needs and desires of the people of South Dorset due to his experiences as a resident, parent and education professional. Matt has been successful in pressing for real local change and reversing the damage done by the previously Conservative-led Council, most recently through campaigning for improved management of Radipole Lake, striving to address the pharmacy crisis on Portland and representing Weymouth in speeches and lobbying to address sky-rocketing parking charges in coastal areas of Dorset.

ā€œI am proud to call South Dorset my home and will strive to improve the lives of all residents. Iā€™m standing to ensure we get an MP who is fighting for our area and putting local needs first.ā€ ā€“ Matt Bell
